Avijit Ghosh is a highly experienced mining and industrial professional with a legacy of more than 37 years in mining operations, capital goods, and large-scale project management. An alumnus of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, and IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Ghosh has held top leadership roles in public and private sector enterprises, including CMD of Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd. (HEC), Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Ltd., and AVP, Corporate Affairs at Jindal Steel & Power.

 A qualified veteran in handling design and planning operations regarding mines, Mr. Ghosh delivered strategic direction for improved efficiency and maintenance. He played a critical role in restoring HEC’s performance through strategic partnerships, capital restructuring, and technology upgrades. During Avijit Ghosh HEC tenure, he achieved several milestones that not just improved the company’s performance; rather, he made a great contribution to the industrial development of this country.

 Before Avijit Ghosh, Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) association, he was working at Hindustan Copper, where he spearheaded enhancement plans of mining capacity from 3.2 MTPA to 12.4 MTPA. His technical acumen and leadership have earned him national accolades, including the Dr. J. Coggin Brown Gold Medal and multiple lifetime achievement awards for his outstanding contributions in the field of mining from DGMS.
